River Monsters Baseball Club Announces Move to San Antonio for 2026 Season
San Antonio, TX — The River Monsters Baseball Club is proud to announce that the organization will call San Antonio home beginning with the 2026 season, launching an exciting new chapter at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW).
The move to San Antonio represents a strategic step forward for the River Monsters as the organization continues to grow within the Texas Collegiate League and deepen its commitment to player development. UIW’s campus offers a premier collegiate baseball environment, modern facilities, and a location that places the team in the heart of one of Texas’ most vibrant baseball communities.
“San Antonio has a rich baseball tradition and a strong sense of community, and we are thrilled to become a part of it,” said team leadership. “Partnering with the University of the Incarnate Word allows us to provide our players with an exceptional setting that supports their physical health, mental well-being, and competitive growth. This move positions our athletes for success both on and off the field.”
The decision to relocate was made with the health, safety, and overall well-being of River Monsters players as the top priority. The enhanced resources, proximity to medical and training support, and collegiate atmosphere at UIW create an environment that aligns with the organization’s long-term vision for player care and performance.
While looking ahead to San Antonio, the River Monsters extend their sincere gratitude to the City of Seguin for hosting the organization over the past four seasons. Seguin played a vital role in the foundation of the franchise and provided unwavering support from the very beginning.
“We are incredibly thankful to Seguin, its fans, families, and community partners who welcomed the River Monsters and stood behind us year after year,” the organization shared. “Seguin will forever be part of our story, especially during our championship season, when the city proudly hosted the River Monsters throughout the year the team captured the Texas Collegiate League Championship. Those memories and relationships will always be cherished.”
As the River Monsters prepare for their arrival in San Antonio, the organization looks forward to building new traditions, engaging with the local community, and continuing to develop elite student-athletes in one of Texas’ premier baseball markets.
More information regarding the 2026 season, schedules, and community events in San Antonio will be released in the coming months.
