River Monsters Strengthen Staff with New Assistant Coach

Damon Haecker is a dedicated coach, educator, and athletic leader with a strong background in both collegiate and high school athletics. A graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Business and Sports Coaching, Haecker is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, with aspirations of advancing into collegiate coaching or athletic administration.

Haecker currently serves as the Head Softball Coach at T.R. Miller High School, where he has led the program since 2022. Prior to this role, he held coaching positions at Montgomery Academy and University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), gaining valuable experience at both the high school and Division I levels. His diverse coaching background also includes time with Lee Scott Academy, the Grand Lake Mariners summer collegiate program, and as the owner and instructor of Diamond Impact, a baseball training organization focused on player development.

A former Division I baseball player at Auburn University, Haecker competed in the Southeastern Conference and appeared in 188 career games across six positions. He served as a three-time team captain, earned selection to the SEC All-Freshman Team, and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Known for his leadership and exceptional baseball IQ, he notably called pitches for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft.

Haecker’s accomplishments extend beyond the field and include leadership roles with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), as well as experience coordinating sports camps and skill development programs. He brings expertise in hitting, catching, and infield play, along with strengths in program development, recruiting, and organizational leadership.

Driven by a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, Haecker is committed to building competitive programs, fostering a strong team culture, and helping individuals reach their full potential.
